So - summer is here and you are looking forward to some well-deserved downtime. But if you’re in business, you can’t afford to take your eye off your personal brand, and here are five ways to keep it steady (without too much hard work).

Wear Your Brand

Consider getting yourself a couple of t-shirts or other summer wear printed up with your logo. I have a summer jacket with my logo on the back and you would be amazed at the number of people who ask me what I do. You just never know – one of those people you meet on holiday could be a potential client.

Network - always

When you’re doing the tourist thing, have conversations with business owners and tell them what you do. If you’re not going away, find out if there are any events going on near you where you could volunteer and meet some new people.

Remember the sun cream

If you love the summer and the sun, remember to look after your face. You don’t want to be broadcasting on Facebook Live with a face full of sunburn.

Catch up with clients

Arrange to meet somewhere social because they’ll be more relaxed and you’ll be able to strengthen your connection with them. Follow up with clients who haven’t yet given you a testimonial

Update your profile photographs and business biography

Your profile photograph should be updated every couple of years (make sure you have the same photograph across all your social media and website). It’s disappointing when you see someone’s picture and they’re looking great, and then you find out that they look completely different because it was taken 20 years ago.

Check through your biography and update any details so that when all those business opportunities come flying in you’re ready to go.
