Are you truly championing DEI or just performing it for PR?

Sure, the numbers look good. The percentages are competitive.

But is it real progress or just optics?

Because your team deserves more than a polished statement.

They deserve systems that actually work.

You can celebrate cultural holidays, update your careers page, and host inclusion workshops.

But if the same voices are still sidelined, the same gaps still ignored, and the same leadership remains untouched…

That’s not inclusion.

And DEI isn’t the job of one department.

It’s the responsibility of power.

That means confronting where bias still hides - in hiring, in pay, in promotions, in decision-making.

It means asking: Who’s still being overlooked, underpaid, or unheard, despite the nice graphs in your report?

It means measuring success not by how comfortable people are, but by how safe they feel to speak the truth.

Real inclusion lives in the hard conversations.

Because DEI isn’t a PR move or a checkbox. It’s a leadership principle.

And if it’s not reflected in your culture, compensation, communication, and courage, then it’s not inclusion.

It’s performance.

So ask yourself:

👉 Are we practicing inclusion, or just performing it?
