5. Digital Content & Coaching Terms - Payment and Refunds

Consumer vs business purchases

Some rules below apply only when you buy as a consumer (an individual acting outside your trade, business, or profession). If your organisation purchases on your behalf (B2B), different rules may apply and your contract/invoice terms will govern.

a)  Digital programmes, downloads, and online course access

When you purchase a digital product (for example: an online course, digital worksheets, audio/video training, or other downloadable/streamed content), you are purchasing digital content delivered electronically.

Your 14-day withdrawal right (EU/UK consumers)

If you buy online as a consumer, you generally have a 14-day cooling-off period to withdraw/cancel a distance contract.

Immediate access: how the withdrawal right works for digital content

Because digital programmes are typically delivered immediately, the law allows the 14-day withdrawal right to be lost once supply begins (for example, once access is granted, a download starts, or streaming begins), but only where you have:

  • asked for immediate access, and

  • acknowledged that you will lose the right to withdraw/cancel once supply begins.

In practice, this means:

  • If you consent to immediate access at checkout and access is provided, your 14-day withdrawal right for that digital content ends at the point supply begins.

  • If you do not give that consent/acknowledgement and we do not supply during the 14 days, you retain the standard 14-day right.

Problems with digital content

Your statutory rights still apply if digital content is not as described or does not function as it should. This page does not remove those rights.

My additional promise (if included on the product page)

Where I offer an “implementation” or “do the work” guarantee on a specific programme, that is an additional commercial promise with clear criteria, and it sits alongside your statutory rights.

How to contact me

If you believe you have been charged in error, cannot access what you purchased, or believe the digital content is not functioning as described, please contact me with your purchase receipt and the email address used at checkout.

b) Coaching, advisory services, and live sessions

Coaching packages and advisory services are classed as services.

Your 14-day cancellation right (EU/UK consumers) : If you buy a service online as a consumer, you generally have a 14-day right to cancel after the contract is agreed.

If you have asked to start your programme immediately

In almost every case, clients want to begin quickly. If you want coaching to start within the 14-day cancellation period, you will be asked at checkout (or in writing) to make an express request to begin immediately.

Under UK rules, when a consumer asks for a service to begin within the cancellation period, the consumer can still cancel within the 14 days, but may be charged a proportionate amount for what has been provided up to cancellation.

So, where you request an immediate start:

  • you are asking me to begin delivering the service straight away; and

  • if you later cancel within the 14-day period, a charge may apply for coaching already delivered (for example, sessions completed and any work already performed).

Commercial policy for coaching (postponement rather than refunds)

Outside of statutory cancellation rights, coaching is booked and delivered in good faith and requires time to be reserved. For that reason:

  • Once coaching has begun, I do not offer refunds as a standard practice.

  • If your situation changes and you cannot continue, the default solution I offer is postponement or rescheduling, or converting remaining sessions into credit to be used within an agreed period, so you do not lose the value of the work.

This policy does not remove any statutory rights that apply to consumer purchases; it describes how I handle changes once delivery is underway and where statutory cancellation is no longer available.

Missed sessions

If you miss a session without notice (or with less than 24 hours’ notice, it is normally treated as delivered because the time was reserved for you, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

How to cancel or postpone

You can email me with your full name, the product/service purchased, and the date of purchase. If you are requesting postponement, include your preferred timeframe for rescheduling.  Alternatively you can use the automated rescheduling system.

I would encourage you to review all information carefully before making a commitment, and to reach out with any questions prior to purchase.
